I thought I would start with a pic of the house we had built in 2003.1 front
Here is the view of the side door to the garage
2 side entrance
The view into the shop from the door.
have a walkdown 5 steps to the basement. I built a platform over the stairs for the gas furnace to sit on.3 view at door
Here is the view at the door looking left into the shop
4 looking across  shop from door
East wall left, delta drill press and 12" ras, Mini Max stroke sander
5 East wall
End of east wall, past the stroke sander sits a 12" foley-belsaw planer/molder fitted with 2 types of crown knives, a 1 hp mortiser,& behind a sheet of plywood sits a Delta  3 hp shaper with a 1 hp 4 wheel power feeder. Then on the right is the old Delta Unisaw / router table.
7 end of east wall
Looking down the middle, is a 20" planer, Laguna scoring saw.
6 down the middle
Looking back toward the stairway area, on the left is a Pentz cyclone powered by an old 4 bag Grizzly DC, a hoover central vac for the shop, Clayton spindle sander, DJ-20, and a Delta 18" bandsaw. Up above is the green Clare gas furnace sitting over the stairs.
8 looking back at stairway area
West wall left from the garage door you see a 60 gal comp, tool chest, General 260-1 VS lathe, then a Mini-Max T124 copy lathe.
9 west wall left
West wall right side you mainly see the 25" drum sander and to it's right a 6x99 oscillating belt sander.
10 West wall right
From the front looking back toward side door.
11 west wall corner looking toward side door
I vac'd the floor before taking pics, some work in progress, TS has corner blocks, there is some reproduction pine trim waiting to go out behind the TS. Sitting on the Mini Max stroke sander table is a top for a mantle.

I added some extra pics, the Unisaw with molding head and power feeder, the Delta shaper with General 4 wheel feeder, pic of the new Triton router in the side of the Unisaw table. Also is a a pic of the scoring saw with the slider back showing how easy the Laguna is to work on. ;D

Nice shop there Bryan.  How do you keep it warm in the winter?  That big garage door must loose a lot of heat.

,Thanks!   Grin  Look above the DJ-20 jointer, sits a 80,000 btu used gas furnace. I built a platform on the 2x4 handraill the builder installed as a guard to the basement stairs to put the furnace on. Also look at pic 3, you can see the 5 steps down to the basemnt door with the furnace above. Garage has 13 ft ceiling.
The garage door is the insulated type.

As the garage is attached, enough heat from the house  radiates from about 30 ft of wall, keeping  it about 40 F degrees during the winter. Never seen it any lower. Turn on the thermostat and in about 15 minutes it's ready to work in.

You are looking at 27 years of tool build up. I still have one tool left from 1980, the Foley-Belsaw planer which just gets use as a molder. I have two sets of crown knives installed in it. In the last two years I have replaced the 14" bandsaw with an 18", and the Sears RAS with the 12" Delta turret RAS, and added the Laguna scoring saw. Some of my tools are almost 20 years old already Shocked, that being the Delta shaper, Unisaw, and Mini Max stroke sander. I'm going to have to stop buying tools, I'm running out of room! Cry
Found this pic, my shop back about 1985

Very nice and well equipped shop Bryan. You've done a great job of fitting that much machinery in your space. BTW, how big is this shop? Thanks for peek!

heres a layout sketch. Not to scale. 20' wide, 28' to far wall but minus about 5' for the stairs to the basement. Steve, I imagine you are actually farther North than me. Also I'm not that far from you. I live approx. an 1 hour and 45 minutes drive east of the Pt. Huron border crossing
